Executive Insights on Crypto-Concept Stocks
On the Eve of Web 4.0: Ta Yang Group Holdings and DigiFT’s Joint Practice in Building the RWA Ecosystem
This interview focuses on Ta Yang’s Web 4.0 strategy launch, exploring the company’s transformation from traditional manufacturing to a pioneer in the digital economy. It also highlights Ta Yang’s strategic foresight amid the restructuring of global trade and the digital economy wave, as well as the far-reaching significance of its collaboration with DigiFT.
Listed companies’ Web3 strategic layouts are increasingly becoming a hot topic of public attention. Against this backdrop, MetaEra has officially launched the “Executive Insights on Crypto-Concept Stocks” series. Through conversations with pioneering business leaders in the digital transformation wave, we aim to explore their strategic planning, business innovation, and financial innovation—offering forward-looking insights to industry participants.
This issue’s interview guests are Shi Qi, Chairwoman of Ta Yang Group Holdings (1991.HK), and Henry Zhang, Founder and Group CEO of DigiFT. The discussion began with Ta Yang’s Web 4.0 strategy launch, delving into the company’s transformation from traditional manufacturing to a digital economy pioneer, while also unveiling the strategic foresight behind this move and the significance of its cooperation with DigiFT.
DigiFT is an open RWA trading and settlement market based on DeFi technology, designed for institutional investors. DigiFT provides institutional-grade digital asset services—including asset tokenization, issuance, distribution, trading, and instant liquidity solutions.
From Traditional Manufacturing to the Digital Economy
Shi Qi first traced Ta Yang’s origins: “We were founded in 1991, with stock code 1991.HK. Initially, silicone manufacturing was our core business. Later, we participated in the global upgrade of consumer electronics, including automotive components. Essentially, wherever conductive silicone was needed, we were involved.” Confronting global changes, she admitted: “With the restructuring of world trade patterns and the rise of the digital economy, the growth potential of traditional single-line manufacturing has become increasingly limited.” Thus, Ta Yang began its transformation: “At the end of 2022, we started investing in network traffic and digital human R&D, gradually moving into digital transformation.”
On the motivation behind the Web 4.0 strategy, Shi Qi explained: “Our Web 4.0 strategy is aimed at releasing the liquidity of real-world assets, and more importantly, fostering deep integration between intelligent symbiosis and the real economy. Through RWA, assets with poor liquidity—such as educational copyrights and gaming IPs—can enter the global market.”
She also emphasized the role of digital humans: “We use digital humans as the interaction interface, making complex asset management and investment processes more intuitive and accessible. This is part of our push to transform Ta Yang from a traditional manufacturer into a builder and participant in the digital economy ecosystem.”
Addressing skepticism around the concept, she said with confidence: “I majored in computer science and personally experienced the evolution from Web 1.0 to Web 2.0, from static to interactive. The move from Web 2.0 to Web 3.0 can be understood as a shift from interactivity to ownership. Web 4.0 represents the shift from ownership to intelligent symbiosis and integration with reality.”
Compliance Synergy and Technology Empowerment
Ta Yang’s collaboration with DigiFT marks a milestone in its transformation. Shi Qi noted: “From late August to early September, Ta Yang’s stocks and other assets were selected into DigiFT’s issuance pool in Singapore, which carries historic significance for us.” She added: “Partnering with DigiFT brings mature expertise in compliance, technology standards, and risk management, enabling us to issue RWA products in a compliant and efficient way, and accelerating their path to international markets.”
From DigiFT’s perspective, Henry Zhang elaborated on the financial significance of the collaboration: “Ta Yang is a long-established Hong Kong Main Board-listed company, known for its transparency and strong regulatory standing. Through RWA on-chain collaboration, Ta Yang’s asset value can be shared with more market participants.” He further clarified DigiFT’s role: “Our goal is to provide more convenient access for more participants to engage in Ta Yang’s strategic development. DigiFT has end-to-end capabilities—from issuance to secondary settlement—as well as multi-chain deployment capacity, allowing compliant implementation and broader accessibility depending on client and regulatory requirements.”
On how DigiFT ensures compliance and efficiency in RWA, he said: “From day one, DigiFT positioned itself as institutional-grade DeFi. We fully recognize the positive role of new technologies in financial markets. But efficiency gains alone aren’t enough; governance mechanisms, disclosure requirements, and legal enforceability must be embedded into a comprehensive risk management framework. That’s how institutional-grade governance ensures both innovation and stability.”
Henry Zhang views RWA as an industry inevitability: “RWA is the real economy—it’s tangible and relevant to our daily lives. Blockchain technology empowers RWA by enhancing efficiency, transparency, and accessibility. This is an undeniable and positive direction for the industry.” He also explained DigiFT’s broader vision: “Our founding coincided with a generational shift in technology architecture brought about by blockchain and related innovations. DigiFT aims to integrate the advantages of DeFi, CeFi, and traditional finance, changing financial cognition through technological empowerment.” On timing, he stressed: “The moment for technological empowerment has already arrived. In finance especially, blockchain can resolve trust, transaction, and cross-border challenges at low cost.”
In terms of market structure, DigiFT combines AMM/order-book matching with market-maker/OTC networks, supported by on-chain clearing and settlement. This improves secondary liquidity, while its whitelist investor and transfer mechanisms ensure that composable, programmable, and transferable trading remains fully compliant.
Regulatory coverage: DigiFT is regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), holding a Recognised Market Operator (RMO) license and a Capital Markets Services (CMS) license. In Hong Kong, DigiFT holds Type 1 and Type 4 licenses from the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), enabling regulated primary and secondary market activities.
Xinghai SPV and the Exploration of AI Digital Humans
On Ta Yang’s digital economy strategy, Shi Qi described the Xinghai SPV: “Xinghai SPV has successfully been listed on the Macau Financial Assets Exchange through DiGuanTong. AI-powered educational, healthcare, and other industries’ financing and financial management will be executed through this vehicle.” She highlighted the multi-layered compliance framework: “We operate under three levels of oversight: financial rationalization from the Macau Property Rights Exchange, investment management oversight from the Hong Kong SFC, and RWA issuance compliance under Singapore and Hong Kong regimes. Together, this balances liquidity and compliance.”
She praised Hong Kong’s regulatory environment: “In recent years, Hong Kong’s Web3 and digital asset policies have become increasingly clear, creating a stable environment for corporate transformation. Having been listed for 18 years, compliance has always been our top priority.”
Shi Qi also clarified misconceptions about digital humans: AI digital humans are not just animated avatars; they act as digital twins, capable of working 24/7. The real challenge is making them professionally valuable across industries—for example, by empowering enterprises through Xinghai SPV to achieve explosive growth in sales.” To address challenges, Ta Yang has pursued a multifaceted approach: accumulating data and user feedback, training with real-world IP, recording educational content, and opening APIs to attract ecosystem partners.
Leadership, Transformation, and Advice
As a female executive, Shi Qi acknowledged the personal cost of balancing innovation, compliance, and market acceptance: “During this critical transformation, I sacrificed much of my family time to fully devote myself to the company.” On mitigating risk, she said: “The most important decision was to choose the right partners. DigiFT had already laid the groundwork in both compliance and technology, which was crucial for our success.” She also advised other traditional businesses: “Corporate leaders must first transform themselves—recognizing that the digital economy is the core of the future. Start with low-cost, low-risk pilot projects, then expand gradually. Most importantly, always partner with compliant platforms, because compliance risk can be devastating.”
Henry Zhang strongly agreed: “When innovating, choosing partners who share the same vision and methods is critical. Collaborating with a high-standard, publicly listed company like Ta Yang allows us to innovate while ensuring compliance. In finance especially, it’s not just about running fast—it’s about running steadily, so progress is sustainable.”
Conclusion
At the close of the interview, Shi Qi looked ahead: “We hope to connect with more on-chain investors to meet asset liquidity needs, and to integrate with innovative Web3 technologies to further our globalization strategy.”
Henry Zhang concluded: “We remain patient and positive, working with like-minded partners and media to build ecosystems that provide real-world examples and practical pathways. DigiFT is focused on the question of ‘How to Earn’: using compliance as the foundation, DeFi as the framework, and stablecoins as the medium to connect a diverse asset shelf with cross-platform composability. This way, qualified investors can see the risks, capture the returns, and adjust their positions dynamically within an open marketplace.”
Backed by HK’s supportive policies and the global digital economy wave, Ta Yang and DigiFT’s collaboration not only offers a replicable model for traditional enterprises’ digital transformation but also sketches out the limitless possibilities of Web 4.0.
