We are excited to announce a groundbreaking collaboration with Unitus, a multi-chain lending protocol, to expand the horizons of decentralized finance (DeFi).
Starting today, DigiFT, in partnership with Unitus, is launching new Real World Asset (RWA) market featuring USDC and DigiFT’s Global USD Money Market Fund Token (GMMF01). This initiative marks a significant step forward in bridging traditional finance and DeFi, bringing enhanced capital efficiency and new investment opportunities to investors.
Bridging Traditional Finance with DeFi
At DigiFT, our mission is to provide a seamless and compliant pathway for integrating traditional financial instruments into the decentralized ecosystem. By partnering with Unitus, investors on the Unitus platform are able to access a new category of markets dedicated to RWAs. This collaboration leverages DigiFT’s services for primary market origination, distribution, and secondary market trading of asset-backed tokens, including bonds, equities, and units in collective investment schemes.
The Rise of RWAs and Benefits for Investors
The RWA sector represents a revolutionary convergence of traditional and decentralized finance, enabling the tokenization of assets such as bonds, equities, and more. This innovation brings several key benefits:
- Increased Liquidity: Enhanced liquidity for traditional financial assets through fractional ownership and 24/7 market access.
- Transparency and Security: Every transaction and ownership detail is recorded and verifiable on the blockchain.
- Cost Efficiency: Reduced costs by eliminating intermediaries.
- Portfolio Diversification: Users can diversify their portfolios by including tokenized traditional financial assets alongside cryptocurrencies.
- Stability: RWAs often exhibit lower volatility, offering more stable yields compared to some digital assets.
- Accessibility: Democratizing access to traditional financial instruments for all users.
Inaugurating the RWA Market with DigiFT’s GMMF01
We are proud to support Unitus in inaugurating this new market category on their platform with DigiFT’s GMMF01 token. The GMMF01 token grants exposure to high-quality short-term money market instruments and debt securities, with underlying fund units held in custody by a MAS-licensed custodian.
Starting from July 4th, users can:
- Supply USDC: Users can earn yield from borrowers and ARB incentives as part of dForce’s “Arbitrum Summer Vibes” campaign. More details on the distribution of incentives will be available on Unitus’ social media channels.
- Supply and Enable GMMF01 as Collateral: KYC-ed users can deposit GMMF01 and enable it as collateral to borrow from the USDC market, unlocking capital efficiency and looping strategies.
