1) Bitcoin ETF giant Grayscale introduces a crypto staking fund [CoinDesk]

– The Grayscale Dynamic Income Fund initially includes APT, TIA, CBETH, ATOM, NEAR, OSMO, DOT, SEI and SOL.

2) BRICS will create payment system based on digital currencies and blockchain [CoinDesk]

– The five-nation BRICS group comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa will work on creating a payment system based on blockchain and digital technologies, a report by Russian news agency TASS said.

3) Arizona Senate advances effort to add crypto to state retirement funds [Blockworks]

– The concurrent resolution seeks to “encourage” pension fund managers to consider crypto in their allocations.

4) IRS hires former crypto executives to bolster crypto tax regulations [Blockworks]

– The Internal Revenue Service has two new executive advisors from Consensys and Binance U.S. to help build out its service, reporting, compliance and enforcement programs for digital assets.

5) Crypto lender Nexo secures first regulatory victory in Dubai [CoinDesk]

– Nexo, a company offering digital asset services, has won initial approval as a licensed entity in Dubai from the region’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA).

6) Deutsche Boerse starts crypto trading platform for institutional clients [CoinDesk]

– Deutsche Boerse will operate the trading venue, and Crypto Finance will provide settlement and custody services.

7) SEC pushes back decision on BlackRock, Fidelity’s ether ETF applications [CoinDesk]

– The SEC wants to know if the applications for ETFs that hold Ethereum’s ether (ETH) are supported by the same arguments that led to the approval of spot bitcoin ETFs.

8) Terra founder Do Kwon wins appeal against US extradition [Cointelegraph]

– The latest overruling by the Appellate Court of Montenegro marks another event in the long history of Kwon’s extradition process after his arrest in March 2023.
