– In an interview, US SEC chair Gensler suggested that all cryptocurrencies other than bitcoin are securities.

2) Forbes: Binance’s asset shuffling eerily similar to manoeuvres by FTX [Forbes]

– According to blockchain data examined by Forbes, from August 17 to early December, holders of more than $1 billion of crypto known as B-peg USDC tokens were left with no collateral.

3) BitDAO’s Mantle Core proposes $200M for Web3 fund [Cointelegraph]

– Mantle Core is an Ethereum layer-2 network developed by the BitDAO ecosystem. The fund aims to boost the adoption among developers and DApps.

– HashKey will now be able to offer OTC virtual asset trading with HBL acting as the intermediary, even if they wish to trade tokens that are not listed on the exchange’s order book.

– Blockchain data shows crypto exchange giant Binance has been relying increasingly on TUSD following a crackdown on its Binance USD stablecoin by U.S. regulators.

7) Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen calls for ‘strong regulatory framework’ for crypto activities [Cointelegraph]

– On the sidelines of the G20 meeting, U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said the country is not pushing for an outright banning of crypto activities.

8) French police arrest 2 people in connection to Platypus attack [Cointelegraph]

– The French police have arrested two suspects and seized 210,000 euros worth of crypto in connection with the Platypus exploit.
