He outlined the critical enablers required for RWA realization, including:

2.    Technological Advancements: Continuous improvements in public blockchain infrastructures were identified as essential, making them more efficient and secure, and thereby supporting RWA initiatives and enabling innovative applications.

3.    Evolving Regulatory Landscape: Despite a historical lag technological advancements, Henry pointed out that current regulations are becoming more comprehensive and accommodating. This favorable regulatory environment fosters RWA adoption.

When asked about the most significant challenge facing Real-World Assets (RWA), Henry pointed out a noticeable trend of industry convergence. He highlighted platforms like MakerDAO integrating substantial RWA through their PSM and the emergence of stablecoins backed by RWA, such as Treasury bills or cash.

Furthermore, Henry noted increasing regulatory concerns. He suggested that some crypto-native assets might be classified as securities, necessitating collaborative approaches with regulators. He emphasized the value of seeking regulatory-compliant asset listing strategies, especially given the evolving regulatory landscape.

In response to a question about the RWA business at DigiFT and his thoughts on the Japanese Crypto market, Henry explained that DigiFT is uniquely positioned as the world’s first regulatory-compliant decentralized exchange (DEX) designed specifically for asset tokenization. He expressed a willingness to engage in discussions with tokens seeking more effective solutions to regulatory challenges and expressed optimism about the Japanese market’s great potential, with a commitment to closely monitoring its developments.
