EthSign and DigiFT to collaborate on decentralized signature service for regulated DeFi ecosystem

EthSign and DigiFT to collaborate on decentralized signature service for regulated DeFi ecosystem

Sequoia-backed EthSign entered a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) with DigiFT Holdings Co. Ltd (“DigiFT”) on 20th July 2022 to develop signature service solutions for regulated decentralized finance.

EthSign, founded in 2019 by Potter Li, Xin Yan, and Jack Xu, offers an e-signing platform that utilizes blockchain technology to facilitate a decentralized, customizable, and transparent version of the traditional signature service. The platform aims to tackle data security issues caused by an over-reliance on centralized providers and re-establish trust in electronic signature services. With its Web 3.0 technology (smart contract platform, decentralized identity, and decentralized storage networks), EthSign enables users to comment, edit, and access electronic agreements securely and seamlessly.

DigiFT, founded in 2020 by Wanli Li and Henry Zhang, is striving to be the first regulated decentralized security trading exchange and is currently operating in the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) FinTech Regulatory Sandbox. The blockchain-based exchange offers an Automatic Market Maker mechanism that facilitates secondary trading liquidity for security tokens backed by financial assets. Investors can trade directly from their digital wallets after completing a Know-Your-Client (“KYC”) onboarding process.

The MOU reflects a strong mutual interest in jointly developing solutions that enhance the overall user experience of decentralized finance (“DeFi”) without compromising regulatory and KYC standards.

The collaboration envisaged will include:

  1. Utilizing a public blockchain wallet-based account to encrypt and securely sign documents or transactions on a regulated security token trading platform; (“Web 3.0 e-Signature”).
  2. Providing verifiable identity through Web 3.0 e-Signature for KYC-ed wallet connecting to DeFi applications.
  3. Developing use cases to enhance user experience, efficiency, and robustness of security token issuance that is compliant with regulation.
  4. Leveraging EthSign’s TokenTable, an automated one-stop, on-chain investment tool for venture capitals, angel investors, and DAOs, to offer investment in private tokens on DigiFT’s regulated decentralized trading platform.

Mr. Yan Xin, Founder of EthSign, said, “We look forward to working with DigiFT to make the security token issuance process more trackable, efficient, and user-friendly with EthSign. We further hope to drive more regulatory cooperation among Web 3.0 digital business models and enhance industry collaboration in areas such as cyber security.”

Mr. Henry Zhang, the CEO of DigiFT, added, “This MOU has allowed us to broaden collaboration between the two Web 3.0 blockchain companies and unlock new values in institutional DeFi adoption. The MOU demonstrates our joint efforts to future-proof DigiFT’s KYC and client onboarding processes by developing new functionalities with EthSign Signatures and TokenTable verifications.”

The MOU was signed using EthSign and can be viewed on the Arweave blockchain.

About DigiFT

DigiFT aims to provide regulated decentralized finance solutions on the Ethereum public blockchain. We are operating the first regulation-abiding decentralized digital asset exchange where asset owners can issue blockchain-based security tokens and investors can trade with continuous liquidity via an Automatic Market Maker mechanism. About EthSign

EthSign is a decentralized, versioned, and consensus-based electronic agreements signing application built on Ethereum, IPFS, and Filecoin. We provide a simple and decentralized alternative for DocuSign. EthSign bridges Ethereum with Filecoin, where Ethereum powers our smart contract and Filecoin/IPFS provides decentralized hot and cold file storage. EthSign offers similar functionality compared to centralized solutions such as DocuSign and Esign but accomplishes its goals without needing to trust a third party.

EthSign & DigiFT

  2. 通过已完成客户尽职调查的钱包,将真实世界的身份认证链接到使用安全 Web 3.0 电子签名的 DeFi 应用程序;
  3. 使用 Web 3.0 电子签名和智能合约,在受监管的环境中无缝集成合约的签署和执行;
  4. 创建更好的环境,使受监管的证券型代币发行更加便利、高效和稳健;
